Today’s Northumberland has learned that a Cobourg Police Officer has been suspended with pay following an allegation of misconduct at the Ontario Police College.
Cobourg Police Chief Paul VandeGraaf stated to Today’s Northumberland the Toronto Police Service is investigating the allegation.
“I have been made aware of allegations of misconduct against a member of CPS while they were seconded to OPC,” VandeGraaf stated in a e-mail to Today’s Northumberland.
“We took immediate action to initiate an investigation led by an outside Service.”
VandeGraaf said the investigation is being conducted by the Toronto Police Service, “to ensure there is no perception of an unbiased or unfair investigation.”
“The Constable involved is currently suspended with pay pending the results of the investigation. We will provide an update to the public once the investigation is complete.”
