It was a great day for the opening of the Cobourg Farmer’s Market on Saturday, May 8, 2021 with some vendors selling out of products.
The Cobourg Farmer’s Market is one of the oldest markets in Ontario and this year they are expecting 35 seasonal vendors which includes seven new vendors.
On Saturday, most were food vendors, but some were selling crafts, mother’s day cards, bandanas, purses and embroidery.
This is the Jackson Family Farm’s 38th year of attending the market at Rotary Harbourfront Park.
Selling cut flowers and vegetables and cheese curds, Stacey Jackson said, “it’s been good. Very steady. Lots of people out browsing.”
With COVID-19 restrictions Jackson didn’t know what to expect but said, “we’ve done very well.”
Heather Milne from Heather’s Homemade Baked Goods also had a very successful day almost selling out the entire stock she had brought with her.
“It was great – a fantastic day. Lot’s of people out for the first time.”
The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday.
