Breaking News – Outbreak at Hope Street Terrace Long Term Care Residence is Over

A outbreak of COVID-19 at the Hope Street Long-Term Care residence in Port Hope is over.

Executive Director of Hope Street Terrace, April Beckett said reached out to Today’s Northumberland stating, “I wanted to let you know that the COVID outbreak has been declared over at Hope Street Terrace!”

But tragically, five residents died as a result of COVID 19.

A total of 20 residents were affected along with 17 staff members.

“All cases have been resolved.”

The first case was confirmed at the residence on January 1.

“I am at a loss of words on how much appreciation, admiration and respect I have for the staff at Hope Street Terrace. Everyday the staff came in to protect our residents, to try and give them some normalcy in a very frightening situation and I cant thank them enough for that.”

“They are all heroes!”
