Cobourg Police – Woman Arrested for Operation While Impaired and Possession of a Controlled Substance

On Sunday, October 4th, 2020, at 8:33 am police on general patrol on Elgin Street West in the Town of Cobourg observed a black Dodge Ram truck pass at what appeared to be a high speed.
As a result, police conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the police investigation, Madison PARNELLROBERTSON, a 22-year-old female from Grafton, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
1. Speeding 90 Kilometers an Hour in a 50 Kilometers an Hour Zone – Contrary to Section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act

2. Drive with Hand-held Communication Device – Contrary to Section 78.1(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

3. Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor – Contrary to Section 32(1) of the Liquor License Act

4. Fail to Surrender Insurance Card – Contrary to 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

5. Young Driver Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero – Contrary to Section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act

6. Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) – Contrary to Section 320(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

7. Possession of a Controlled Substance – Crystal Methamphetamine – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act PARNELL-ROBERTSON’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
