Northumberland Community Counselling Centre Kicks Off The Bill Patchett Mum Sale in Cobourg

The Northumberland Community Counselling Centre kicked off their annual Bill Patchett Mum Sale in Cobourg on September 10, 2020.

Town Crier Mandy Robinson kicked off the annual event with not only a cry, but volunteered for the first four hours of the two week event.

With bell in hand, Robinson would wave at the traffic and most of them would wave back. But she especially was fond of the transport trucks honking their horns.

“It’s just awesome – I love it,” said Robinson just a few metres from the Centre located at Division Street and Densmore Road in Cobourg.

The fundraiser was started by local philanthropist Bill Patchett who passed away on May 10, 2019.

The centre has been at its current location for just over a year and provides counselling, information, education, anger management groups, support and advocacy programs.

It promotes healthy communities by encouraging individuals to access these services when challenged by life’s issues.

Offering direct support to couples, family and individuals of all ages in a timely manner and regardless of economic circumstances.

The Centre provides counsellors who are trained and experienced to match the specific needs of each person.

Also offered is a Partner Assault Response Program for men and women experiencing domestic violence.

The Centre is also a violence against women agency serving Northumberland County.

The Bill Patchett Memorial Mum Sale will be taking place for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the next two weeks at 1158 Division Street in Cobourg.
