Hydrofoil Boarder Gets Assistance Returning To Shore In Cobourg

July 12 hydrofoil

A number of hydrofoil boarders were out on Lake Ontario on Sunday, July 12, 2020 enjoying the gorgeous, windy day.

The boarders were primarily on the west side of the west pier, but one surfer ran into a bit of difficulty on the east side of the east pier.

Around 5 p.m. the boarder said the wind shifted and he couldn’t get to shore using his kite.

The Coast Guard was assisting a boater around Grafton, but attended the area of the boarder who refused their assistance.

Two stand-up paddle boarders assisted the boarder to shore.

The hydrofoil boarder was wearing a life jacket, but police remind stand-up paddle boarders that it is a $240 for not wearing a personal flotation device.
