It was a tribute on Danforth Road West in Hamilton Township on Friday, April 24, 2020 to honour the victims of Canada’s worst mass shooting.
Keeping a safe distance neighbours met on the front lawn of Lynda Macklin.
“I thought since we’re all staying at home and seeing the tragedy that happened in Nova Scotia, I just felt like we had to get outside and acknowledge and support the people of Nova Scotia and all the frontline workers,” said Macklin.
“With all that is going on I felt – you can’t explain the feeling. I find Nova Scotia, east coast people are the most friendly, they would give you the shirt off their back and then this tragedy happened.”
The group of neighbours met and banged pots and pans while members of the Hamilton Township Fire Department drove by.
After they sang O Canada, then had a minute of silence in honour of all the victims.
