Security in Downtown Cobourg Topic of Discussion At Upcoming DBIA Meeting

Security in the downtown of Cobourg will be addressed at the upcoming DBIA Board meeting this coming Friday.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, Today’s Northumberland was notified of a discarded syringe in the downtown area amongst garbage, a window of a bank located at King and George Street was also broken.

Two portable toilets behind Victoria Hall have also been the target of almost daily thefts of four rolls of toilet paper and sanitizer.

Interim Chair of the DBIA (Downtown Business Improvement Association), Cobourg councillor and local business owner, Adam Bureau said the topic of security will be discussed in-camera with the Board at their Friday, April 17, 2020 meeting. A virtual public meeting will also be held at 10 a.m.
