Members of the Hamilton Township Fire Department are advising residents if they hear sirens on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at approximately 7:30 p.m., there is likely no need to be concerned.
Fire Chief Kelly Serson said on Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. a number of firetrucks will be driving in various locations and neighbourhoods in Hamilton Township with emergency lights and sirens activated as they celebrate Hamilton Township Fire Department Spirit Nights for essential workers.
Serson said he was approached by numerous firefighters about the idea and was fully supportive.
“We are very much looking forward to having it every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Hamilton Township to show the spirit of the community and along with all of our support for essential workers during this COVID-19 crisis.”
Everyone who would like to participate by keeping their social distance and meet at the end of their driveways holding banners, pictures, pots or pans to make noise in support of essential workers.
