Northumberland County Residents Asked to Check Local Jurisdictions Before Open Air Burning

The Fire Chiefs of Northumberland County are asking residents to check with their local jurisdictions before burning.

Currently the Northumberland County Fire Chiefs haven’t placed burn bans on at this time.

The Fire Chiefs of Northumberland County are urging residents to exercise proper judgment when enjoying the outdoors over the weekend, due to dry conditions predicted.

If you are going to burn this weekend we are encouraging residents to use sound judgment over the next few days, and to have an adequate water supply to extinguish the fire.

Please review your permit and ensure you follow all the regulations outlined in your permit.

Due to the current COVID 19 status and the goal to maintain social distancing and eliminate unnecessary emergency responses, we are asking residents to check with their local jurisdictions before burning.
