Alderville First Nation Cannabis Dispensaries Closed Temporarily

March 26 alderville

Alderville First Nation Chief Dave Mowat spoke with Today’s Northumberland on the Chief and Council Order that came into effect on March 25, 2020 at 6 p.m.

The order stats that all storefront cannabis and tobacco shops (excluding convenience stores) operating on Alderville First Nation territory be closed temporarily due to COVID-19.

Owners must provid their “social distancing plan” outlining the Personal Protective Equipment and measures to protect staff and customers by March 30, 2020.

The plan must be approved by Chief Mowat and Council for the shops to re-open on April 2, 2020 at 9 a.m.

“Chief and Council acknowledge that cannabis is deemed essential by Ontario, however the closure is meant to be a temporary measure in every effort to contain the potential spread of COVID-19 in Alderville.”
