Cobourg Man Gives Up His Sunday To Remove Vandalism In Downtown

A local resident took the initiative on Sunday after a reading a story on Today’s Northumberland about an act of vandalism promoting violence.
Rob Dawe spent the day working until nearly 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 trying to remove vandalism done to Henley’s Arcade on King Street in Cobourg right across from Victoria Hall on King Street..
Sometime overnight on Friday or early morning Saturday, October 19, 2019 suspect/s painted six stencils in red spray paint stating, “shoot your local meth dealer.”
Cobourg Police are investigating, but when Dawe saw the post he knew he had to do something.
Dawe didn’t want any attention for what he was doing on Sunday, he was just trying to be a good citizen and show he cares about his hometown.
Henley Arcade is a walkway where numerous people go through each day including children and Dawe said he didn’t want them reading what was painted on the pavement.
