Northumberland OPP Investigating Origin Of Cross Along Lakeshore In Grafton
Northumberland OPP are investigating the origin of a cross along the lakeshore in Grafton.
An identification officer went to the scene at Nawautin Sanctuary on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
On Tuesday, social media posted numerous photos of the cross that was upside down along the lakeshore with etchings on it including what appears to be a pentagram used as a satanic symbol.
Darren MacDonald was walking along the lakeshore with his brother on Tuesday night when he noticed the cross and took a few photos of it shortly after 7 p.m.
“I immediately laughed and said, “someone must of got the new Blair Witch game (that came out Friday).”
“Then we talked about a couple of podcasts we listened to about the satanic panic and when I was leaving I figured the crowd of people that I see use the sanctuary on a daily basis wouldn’t want to see that on their peaceful walks so I kicked it over.”
A Northumberland OPP Identification officer took a number of photographs of the unusual find.
There is no apparent crime, but police did state it is highly unusual.
