Breaking News – Emergency Responders Sent To Wrong Location
Emergency services in Cobourg were dispatched to the wrong location on Thursday, August 9, 2019.
At approximately 9:55 p.m. emergency services (police, fire and paramedics) were dispatched to a medical emergency on Pebble Beach Drive in Cobourg for a person who was vital signs absent along the beach.
A person was waiting for emergency services to arrive by the roadway waving a light on a cell phone, but emergency services were unable to locate the individual along the shoreline in Cobourg’s west end.
The caller wasn’t from the area and stated they were on a “pebble beach.”
Several minutes passed and after getting more information from the caller they indicated they were near a lighthouse. Police were first to arrive on scene and spotted the person with the phone.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived soon after and the patient was transported to hospital by paramedics. The patient was conscious and breathing at the time of transport.
