This slideshow was created shortly after the funeral of Constable Chris Garrett.

Garrett was murdered in the early hours May 15, 2004 after being lured to a phoney robbery.

After being mortally wounded, Garrett went forward after his assailant.

In doing that, he shot the person in the leg. The murderer would later phone his mother who drove him to the hospital where he was treated for a gun wound to the leg, arrested and later convicted of first degree murder on February 22, 2007.

Garrett’s badge number was 221. Whenever you see the numbers 221 and the date May 15 comes around, you remember.

It was a tragic day everyone wishes never happened. But it’s something no one should ever forget.

History needs to remember who the heroes are in this world, in this country and in this community.

Cobourg Police Constable Chris Garret, badge number 221 was a hero.

That night he saved many lives.

Few people have viewed this slideshow, but it’s time to release it to show what an outpouring of support there was in Cobourg for the police, and for the Garrett family.

Like the slideshow says, Cobourg Police Constable Chris Garrett – was “A Hero To All”
