A Port Hope man is looking for any information from the public after he was involved in a accident with his motorized bicycle on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Cobourg.
At approximately 5:20 p.m., Jeff Berdan was riding his motorized bicycle north on William Street when witnesses say the man lost control striking the curb and throwing the him from the motorized bicycle.
Berdan said he doesn’t remember the accident and for hours after even his memory was foggy.
“I remember going down the road, ready to pull into McDonald’s for lunch. I was hardly rolling, I saw a vehicle coming – prepared to come to a stop and I don’t remember anything else.”
“Something hit me,” said Berdan.
“There is no way I just fell off my bike and did that kind of damage.”
Suffering numerous fractures around his eye, cheekbone, nose, Berdan said he has been coughing up blood ever since.
“It’s pretty extensive.”
Following the collision, police dropped off the motorized bicycle at the hospital where Berdan brought it home, checked it out and is once again riding it.
But Berdan said he still has unanswered questions.
“How did this happen, because I was hardly rolling.”
Berdan said he believes the accident happened, but when emergency services arrived the scene was just south of the William Street bridge.
“I would like to know who was there and who saw it and how it all went down.”
For anyone who has any information or witnessed the accident Berdan said he would like them to call him at 905-809–5920 to help fill in the blanks.
