Appointment of the Fifth Cobourg Police Service Board Member
The Cobourg Police Services Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Graham as the fifth and final member of the Cobourg Police Services Board. He was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario. His appointment is for a period not to exceed three years.
“We are pleased to have Sean Graham serving on our Cobourg Police Services Board. His experience, knowledge and love for being involved in the community will be a great asset to us and we look forward to working with him,” Board Chair Dean Pepper.
Sean Graham was sworn in as a member on March 15th and will join Chair Dean Pepper, Mayor John Henderson, Councillor Aaron Burchat, and Dr. Ron Kerr. The Cobourg Police Services Board is now complete for the new term and is scheduled to meet monthly. Currently the Cobourg Police Services website is being updated, but once complete you will find board minutes, agendas and a complete member list.
About Sean Graham
Sean Graham grew up in Northumberland County and has proudly called Cobourg home for the last four years. He is an advocate of community involvement and serves as a Big Brother, has coached minor sports locally, and was an active member with the St. Vincent’s Kitchen where he volunteered for many years preparing food and helping those in need. Sean also loves to be active and participates in many fundraising events to raise money for such causes as multiple sclerosis, cancer research and other nonprofit initiatives.
Sean has a wide range of education and attended Jefferson College in New York where he studied Criminal Justice. Once back in Canada, Sean followed up on additional studies at Durham College and the University of Ontario Institute of Technology while working on initiatives with “youths at risk” where he initiated sports programming and personal mentoring programs. Sean has also taken courses with the Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) and completed studies in Operations Management and Project Management where he acquired a strong knowledge in budgeting and scheduling, managing project risk and changes and planning and initiating projects. Sean also received some board experience during his time at the CPKN.
Sean is currently employed as a member with the Nuclear Security Response Force with prior experience with an Emergency Team and served as a Nuclear Security Officer within the Nuclear Security department.
