$63,300 OTF Grant Helps Cornerstone Expand Community Resource Centre
Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre is pleased to announce that our organization has been awarded a Capital grant of $63,300 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The OTF grant will be used to expand our community resource centre to accommodate additional space for direct service provision to clients in the community.
“Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre continues to help vulnerable individuals throughout Northumberland County,” said David Piccini, MPP for Northumberland-Peterborough South. “Through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, our Government for the People is helping them to expand their programs and services, which means they will benefit even more women and children in the area.”
In addition to growing the physical footprint of the community resource centre, the grant will increase our reach by 30 per cent. Over 600 women and children received services last year and thanks to the $63,300 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, more individuals from the community will be able to access our services in the future.
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be underestimated,” said Nancy Johnston, Cornerstone Executive Director. “This grant will allow us to expand our space to adequately house our many programs and services that help women and their families overcome their challenges and live a life free from violence.”
Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre is committed to breaking the cycle of family violence by providing immediate shelter, counselling and prevention services throughout Northumberland County, so that together we can create a place where hope grows.
