Northumberland OPP – Theft Investigation Results in Charges

On Saturday September 15, 2018 members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into a theft investigation after a resident from Brighton reported a purse containing her wallet, was stolen sometime overnight from the vehicle that was parked in her driveway.

On Tuesday January 8, 2019 the Peterborough/Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) with the assistance of front line members of the Northumberland OPP, a rrested and charged 20- year-old Aaron DAVENPORT, and 21-year-old Steven COURNEYEA both of Quinte West, Ontario with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Theft of Credit Card
  • Use of Credit Card – not authorized

Both of the accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on January 30, 2019.
