Update – (NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – In July of 2018, members of the Peterborough/ Northumberland and City of Kawartha Lakes Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) entered into a drug trafficking investigation.
On September 20, 2018 an arrest was made by the CSCU with the assistance of front line members of the Northumberland OPP outside a local area business located on Division Street in Cobourg. A loaded hand gun, along with a large quantity of cash and various drugs including cocaine, and fentanyl were seized from a white SUV.
Members of the CSCU executed search warrants on a related motor vehicle and residence in the Cobourg area with the assistance from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) which resulted in additional drug seizures.
As a result, Todd CROWE, 29, of Scarborough was arrested and charged with the following offences:
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
· Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
· Breach of Firearm Regulation
· Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/Ammunition
· Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
· Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 Counts)
· Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (2 Counts)
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine (2 Counts)
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
Further, Theresa DEHM, 37, of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:
· Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
· Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
· Breach of Firearms Regulation
· Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine (2 Counts)
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid
· Possession of a Schedule II Substance –Cannabis Marijuana
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin
Both accused persons have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
Ontario Provincial Police have arrested two people seized a loaded handgun and a quantity of drugs that culminated in the town of Cobourg.
On Thursday, September 20, 2018, Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Ballantine Street in Cobourg and later executed a search warrant at a Sutherland Crescent residence.
A female from Cobourg and a male from Scarborough are facing numerous charges and appeared for a bail hearing in Cobourg on Friday, September 21, 2018.
The drugs seized were cocaine, crack cocaine, $4,300 in cash, and a loaded handgun were seized.
Also seized was a Lexus SUV.
The bail for the woman was put over till September 24, and the man’s bail hearing was put over until September 25.
