Reminder To Pull Over For Emergency Vehicles Even On The Highway

Paramedics make an emergency run to Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 along Highway 401 eastbound east of the Cranberry Road bridge in Port Hope.

In 2017 Ontario Provincial Police said that the number of drivers charged for failing to give emergency vehicles space has been on the rise since 2011.

According to OPP

If there is an additional charge within the next five years it can carry a $1,000 to $4,000 fine, in addition there could be possible jail time of up to six months and and the possibility of a driver’s suspension for up to two years.
