Worker Airlifted From Scene After Wall Collapses – Port Hope
(PORT HOPE, ON) – On Tuesday July 3, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Northumberland EMS and the Port Hope Fire Department responded to a report of an industrial accident on Dodds Road in the Municipality of Port Hope.
A preliminary investigation at the scene by the OPP has determined that construction company employees were working to repair a home when a partial collapse of the building resulted in a male sustaining serious injury.
At one point it’s believed the person was vital signs absent.
The injured worker was flown to a Toronto area trauma centre by ORNGE Air Ambulance.
The investigation is in the early stages and an exact cause is unknown at this time.
Ministry of Labour has been called to investigate.
