Durham Police – Item Found in Food Packet in Ajax

An investigation is underway after a soup packet contained an unknown item was found by a Ajax resident Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of West Division responded to a residence in the area of Rossland Road West and Stannardville Drive in Ajax after a suspicious item was found inside a sealed package of dried soup. It was reported by the complainant that when she attempted to cut the foil packet, the package emitted a powdery substance. The victim was not injured and contacted police.
