Quinte West OPP – Driver Charged with Impaired Driving During RIDE Program (Name Released)

A RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program conducted by the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP East Region Highway Safety Division (HSD) has resulted in impaired driving charges.

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, just before 3:00 p.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Frankford-Stirling Road in Quinte West when an SUV entered the checkpoint. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Quinte West OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew PERRIN, 46 years old, of Stirling, has been charged with:

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the involved vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Thursday, December 10, 2026.

The OPP conducts RIDE spot checks throughout the year as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and deter impaired driving. Motorists can expect to encounter RIDE programs at any time of day or night, on any day of the week, and at various locations throughout the community.

Impaired driving remains a serious threat to public safety and is entirely preventable. The Quinte West OPP reminds drivers to make responsible choices before consuming alcohol or drugs and operating a vehicle.

If you suspect an impaired driver, call 9-1-1 immediately. To report suspected impaired driving after the fact or other non-emergency traffic concerns, contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
