Durham Region Police – Male Arrested After 3D Printed Firearm Parts Located

A male youth is facing charges following an investigation into alleged online threats involving a local Pickering high-school.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, members of the West Division Criminal

Investigations Branch began an investigation after receiving information from multiple sources, including International external policing partners, alleging that a youth had made online comments about producing firearms with a 3D printer and carrying out a school shooting.

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, investigators with the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch with the assistance of the West Crime Team and E-Crimes unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in Pickering. As a result, various electronic devices, a 3D printer, and an incomplete polymer lower receiver for an Urutau, a 3D-printable semi-automatic firearm were located and seized.

A 16-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Uttering Threats, and Manufacturing Firearm Parts.

He was held for a bail-hearing.
