Durham Region Police – Male Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Two Children on Multiple Occasions (Name/Photo Released)

A male is facing charges following a sexual assault investigation involving two children in Pickering and Toronto.

In July 2026, investigators with the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a male after it was reported that the suspect sexually assaulted two female children. The suspect, who is known to both victims’ families, attended their respective residences and inappropriately touched the victims.

Through an extensive investigation, it was determined that the suspect had sexually assaulted the victims on numerous occasions between November 2025 and July 2026.

In August 2026, the suspect was located in Ajax and taken into custody without incident.

The accused provides art lessons from a residence in Pickering, and police have concerns there may be further victims.

Faruk DEWAN, age 63 from Pickering is charged with: Sexual Assault x11, and Sexual Interference with person Under 16 x11.

He was held for a bail hearing.
