Cobourg Man Charged with Criminal Harassment/Fail to Comply

A 60-year-old Cobourg man has been charged following a criminal harassment investigation.

On August 25, 2026, police received a report that an employee of a local business had been subjected to repeated unwanted conduct over several days while travelling to and from work and while at their workplace. The individual involved had previously been trespassed from the business but allegedly continued to attend.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested a 60-year-old Cobourg man on August 27, 2026. He was charged with Criminal Harassment and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Port Hope Woman Charged with Fail to Comply, Possession

Three individuals have been charged in separate incidents involving controlled substances and breaches of court-ordered conditions.

On August 26, 2026, police conducting a compliance check learned that the individual was in breach of a probation order. As a result, on August 27, 2026, officers arrested a 33-year-old Port Hope woman after observing her during patrol. During the arrest, officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. The accused was charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Possession of a Schedule I Substance. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

 

Cobourg Man Charged with Possession

In a separate incident on August 27, 2026, at approximately 2:10 a.m., officers on general patrol observed an individual in the vestibule of a business in the area of George Street and King Street. During the interaction, officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Cobourg man was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and released on a Provincial Offences Notice under the Trespass to Property Act.

On August 29, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers on patrol observed an individual in possession of a small quantity of suspected fentanyl in the area of King Street and Spring Street. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance and three Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing and was subsequently released by the courts.

 

Youth Charged with Uttering Threats, Assault Peace Officer, Fail to Comply

A youth has been charged following a police investigation into reported online threats.

On August 27, 2026, police received a report that threats had been made during an online interaction between youths. As a result of the investigation, a youth was arrested on August 28, 2026. Following the arrest, the youth uttered threats toward a police officer and assaulted an officer.

As a result of the police investigation, the 16-year-old youth was charged with two counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Assaulting a Peace Officer, and Failing to Comply with Sentence. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Quebec Woman Charged with Impaired – Roseneath Man Charged with Impaired

Police charged two individuals with impaired driving in separate incidents over the weekend.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on August 30, 2026, officers conducting traffic enforcement observed a vehicle being operated without headlights and initiated a traffic stop. During the investigation, police observed signs of impairment by alcohol. As a result, the driver, a 59-year-old Quebec woman, was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

On August 31, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a person sleeping inside a parked vehicle in the area of DePalma Drive and Strathy Road in Cobourg. As a result of the investigation, a Roseneath man was arrested and charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol, and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
