Northumberland OPP – Three People Charged Following Search Warrant in Trent Hills (Names Released)
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four individuals following the execution of a Criminal Code search warrant in Campbellford.
On August 27, 2026, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Canine Unit (K9), executed a search warrant at a residence on Grand Road.
Three individuals fled on foot from the property and were subsequently arrested nearby. As a result of the search, officers seized a loaded firearm.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are seeking a fourth individual in connection with the incident.
David MUNFORD (44) of Campbellford, has been charged with:
– Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
– Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
– Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
– Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
– Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
– Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
Shane Mclean (45) of Campbellford, has been charged with:
– Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
– Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
– Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
– Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
– Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
– Fail to comply with probation order
Kelly Scott (39) of Campbellford, has been charged with:
– Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
– Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
– Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
– Fail to comply with probation order
– Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
All accused were held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
