Cobourg Police – Bewdley Man Facing Multiple Charges After Driving Gas-Powered Scooter (No Name Released)

A Bewdley man is facing multiple charges after police conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday.

On August 19, 2026, at approximately 11:35 a.m., while on general patrol in the area of Ballantine Street and Division Street in Cobourg, police observed what was believed to be a gas-powered scooter being operated on the roadway in violation of multiple Highway Traffic Act provisions.

As a result of the police investigation, a 45-year-old Bewdley man was charged with Operation while Prohibited, Driving while Under Suspension, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Plates, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Permit, and Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway No Insurance.  The accused was released with a future court date.
