Cobourg Man Charged with Possession

A 35-year-old Cobourg man is facing a drug possession charge after being arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On August 5, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., police on general patrol in the area of Division Street and Ewart Street in Cobourg located an individual who was wanted on an outstanding warrant with the Cobourg Police Service. The individual was arrested on the strength of the warrant. During the arrest, police located a quantity of suspected fentanyl.

As a result, a 35-year-old Cobourg man was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl). The accused was held for a bail hearing.

 

Cobourg Woman Charged with Fail to Comply

A 37-year-old Cobourg woman is facing a charge after police responded to a report of suspicious persons behind a local business.

On August 5, 2026, at approximately 3:40 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious persons behind a business in the area of Division Street and Spencer Street. Officers attended and identified that one individual was in breach of a probation order.

As a result, a 37-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.

 

Cobourg Man Charged with Counterfeit Money, Possession of Meth, Fail to Comply

A 31-year-old Cobourg man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a report of open-air drug use.

On August 5, 2026, at approximately 9:45 a.m., police responded to a report of open-air drug use in the area of Queen Street and McGill Street in Cobourg.

Upon arrival, officers located an individual with drug paraphernalia and a suspected controlled substance in plain view. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Cobourg man was arrested. During the arrest, police located approximately 0.4 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and two counterfeit $100 USD bills.

The accused was charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Counterfeit Money, Two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order, and Fail to Comply with Release Order. The accused was held for a bail hearing and was subsequently released on a release order with a future court date.
