Police Seeking Public Assistance Following Break and Enter
The Port Hope Police Service is investigating a daytime break and enter that occurred at a residence on Holland Street on June 26, 2026.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance and asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has dash camera or home surveillance footage from the area between 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. to contact the Port Hope Police Service at 905-885-8123.

Police Investigating Mischief to Vehicle
The Port Hope Police Service is investigating an incident of mischief to a motor vehicle that occurred on June 26, 2026, in the area of Dorset Street West and Pine Street South.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance and asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has surveillance or dash camera footage from the area to contact the Port Hope Police Service at 905-885-8123. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers.

Aggressive Driving Results in Licence Suspension
In the early morning hours of June 28, 2026, a Port Hope Police officer stopped a vehicle after observing aggressive driving, including failing to stop for a red light in the downtown core.
The driver, a Port Hope resident, received a seven-day driver’s licence suspension and was charged with failing to stop at a red light.

Arrest Made in Domestic Assault Investigation
On the morning of July 2, 2026, Port Hope Police responded to a domestic assault at a residence in Port Hope.
A 28-year-old male from Scarborough was arrested and charged with spousal assault.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police Respond to Disturbance Aboard VIA Rail Train
On July 4, 2026, the Port Hope Police Service responded to the VIA Rail station after receiving a request for assistance with an unruly passenger aboard a train.
Police determined the individual was causing a disturbance and was in possession of property belonging to another passenger. When officers attempted to arrest the individual, he resisted but was taken into custody without injury to the public or police.
A 31-year-old male from Quebec was charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Resist Peace Officer.
The accused was released on an undertaking.
