City of Kawartha Lakes – A Number of Impaired Driving Charges (Names Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple impaired driving charges since May 28, 2026.

On May 28, 2026, at approximately 2:28 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 121 in Somerville Township. Upon arrival, officers located the driver, who was not injured.

Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving-related offences.

Mavis NANGMALIK, 25-year-old of Minden, was charged with:

· Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

· Failure or refusal to comply with demand

 

On May 28, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Waite Road in Manvers Township. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences. No one was injured as a result of the collision.

Taylor CRAMP, 30-year-old of Janetville, was charged with:

· Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

· Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

 

On June 2, 2026, at approximately 2:01 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Centreline Road in Emily Township. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences. No one was injured as a result of the collision.

Claire BURNARD, 33-year-old of Peterborough, was charged with:

· Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and drugs

· Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

 

On June 2, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Westview Drive in Emily Township. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences. No one was injured as a result of the collision.

Chelsea GALLEY, 28-year-old of Oshawa, was charged with:

· Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

· Novice Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration above zero

 

All accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. All drivers received a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.
