Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an incident involving a number of individuals in Roseneath.
On May 4, 2026, shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers responded to an incident at a residence on Hall Road in Roseneath. It was reported that two individuals were involved in an altercation and that a weapon was involved.
The individuals sought in connection with the incident were not at the location when police arrived and a description of the vehicle they left in was provided. All parties involved were known to one another.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended and assessed the complainant for non-serious injuries. A local Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) also attended to assist with the investigation.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description provided however the vehicle was not being driven by an individual sought by police.
Through continued investigation, OPP located and took several individuals into custody at an address on County Road 22 in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand at approximately 10:00 p.m. No other persons are being sought at this time.
The investigation is being continued by the OPP Crime Unit. No further information can be provided at this time and updates will be issued as they become available.
