A 26-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police conducted a sexual assault investigation.
In February 2026, police opened an investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a residence in Cobourg.
As a result of the investigation, on April 14, 2026, a 26-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Administering Noxious Thing and Sexual Assault. The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
Cobourg Police Service reminds everyone that there is no statute of limitations for sexual offences, and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence. A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature.
