A pilot escaped injury after a plane crash at the Lindsay Airport on March 4, 2026.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., police were called to a report of a small aircraft that had crashed and was found lying on its roof just off the runway. The incident was first reported to the Ontario Provincial Police, who, along with Kawartha Lakes Police, Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue Service, and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service, responded to the scene.
The initial investigation indicates that the aircraft lost control during landing, causing the tail of the single-engine Cessna to lift and flip the plane onto its roof. The pilot was able to exit the aircraft and report the crash. The pilot was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
No other injuries or damage were reported.
The aircraft was removed from the runway, and no significant delays to airport operations are expected.
The Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the incident.
