OPP/Peterborough Police – More Than 1 KG of Fentanyl Seized Three Arrested

Three people are facing several charges, including one who is also subject to a committal warrant.

In early October, the Peterborough/Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), in partnership with the Hamilton Police Service (HPS), began an intelligence-led, drug trafficking investigation. As part of the investigation, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland OPP CSCU, OPP OCEB, HPS and the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad located and arrested an individual who is subject to a committal warrant. Officers also executed a search warrant at a Hamilton residence, where two additional individuals were arrested.

As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized with approximate quantities:

• 1.2 kg of suspected fentanyl

• 150 g of suspected cocaine

• 110 g of suspected methamphetamine

• 35 g of suspected crack cocaine

• 100 hydromorphone tablets (8 mg each)

• One cell phone

• $1,600 in Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $48,400.

Justin BOYER, age 36 of Norwood, has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code (CC) and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):
• Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, s. 345(1)(a) CC
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, s. 5(2) CDSA
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, s. 5(2) CDSA

Marie GAZIKOVA, age 23 of Hamilton, and Steven FENTON, age 39 of Hamilton, have each been charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, s. 5(2) CDSA
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine, s. 5(2) CDSA

The accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Hamilton on a later date.
