Northumberland OPP – Two People Charged with Fraud (Names Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals following a fraud investigation.

On October 15, 2025, police received a report that a person engaged to provide home support in the Municipality of Trent Hills, had used financial information to make unauthorized purchases.

After a six-week investigation, officers arrested two individuals on November 25, 2025.

Alecia BENDFELD (33) from the Township of Stirling-Rawdon, has been charged with:

–      Fraudulent use of credit card data

–      Fraud under $5,000

James SANDERSON (35) from Stirling, has been charged with:

–      Fraudulent use of credit card data

–      Fraud under $5,000

–      Possession of property obtained by crime under $5, 000

Both accused are due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in January 2026.
