Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Invitation to Sexual Touching, Fail to Comply, Fail to Attend (No Names Released)

Cobourg Man Charged with Invitation to Sexual Touching

A 27-year-old Cobourg man has been charged after police investigation.

On October 16, 2025, the Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigation Bureau commenced an investigation after receiving a report of a youth receiving unwanted text messages that were sexual in nature from a known individual.

As a result of the police investigation, a 27-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Invitation to Sexual Touching. The accused was held for bail and released to a surety.


Police made several arrests on warrants and breach of probation over the weekend.

 

Cobourg Man Charged with Fail to Comply

On October 17, 2025, police on general patrol observed an individual known to be wanted on a warrant. As a result, the 24-year-old Cobourg mans was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future courts date.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since October 2024, the accused has been arrested 20 times with 21 criminal charges. In total, police have had 252 interactions with the accused in the past year.

 

Cobourg Woman Charged with Public Intox, Fail to Comply, Fail to Attend

On October 17, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police were conducting a property check in the area of Covert Street and located an individual known to be wanted on outstanding warrants with the police service. The 42-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with public intoxication, three counts of fail to comply with probation, and fail to attend. The accused was held for bail.

 

Man Charged with Threats, Fail to Comply, Fail to Attend Court

On October 18, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on King Street East. Officers located a man known to be wanted on several warrants. The 33-year-old man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with Uttering Threats – cause death or bodily harm, three counts of fail to comply with probation, Failure to Attend Court. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future courts date.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since October 2024, the accused has been arrested 17 times with 18 criminal charges. In total, police have had 197 interactions with the accused in the past year.

 

Brighton Man Charged with Fail to Comply, Six Counts Fail to Comply with Probation

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 12:05 a.m., police on general patrol arrested a 38-year-old Brighton man for breach of probation. During the arrest the man resisted arrest, and police located a small quantity of suspected fentanyl. As a result of the investigation, the man was charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order, six counts of fail to comply with probation, Possession of a scheduled 1 substance, and Resist Arrest. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

 

Cobourg Man Charged with Theft Under, Fail to Comply

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a theft in progress at a business on Division Street after a man attempted to steal a purse from a customer. The purse was recovered and returned to the victim. As a result of the investigation a 34-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, failure to comply with probation and failure to comply with release order. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

(Note – Cobourg Police state in two incidents officers had 449 “interactions” with the individuals – but haven’t give any indication of what the interactions were)
