It was a happy ending for a child that went missing from the area of Corbett’s dam on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Port Hope Police received a report of a nine-year–old child that had gone missing near the area of Corbett’s dam which is a popular place for viewing salmon this time of year.
Port Hope Police, Northumberland County Paramedics and Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched to the area to search for the missing youth.
The Port Hope Police also utilized the use of their drone to search the area around the dam.
With light fading, the concern grew for emergency services, but thankfully the sharp eye of a Port Hope Police officer spotted the child at approximately 7:20 p.m. and brought him back to his family.
The child was checked over by paramedics and sustained no injuries.
