Northumberland OPP – Youth Charged with Assault with a Weapon

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a youth following an assault investigation.

On June 19, 2025, police received a report of an altercation between individuals on William Street in the Township of Cramahe.

Officers attended the scene and spoke with the victim, who was also assessed by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as a precaution. Injuries were described as non-serious. No other individuals were present when OPP arrived.

An investigation was initiated, and it was determined that a piece of sports equipment had been used by the accused during the incident. A warrant was subsequently obtained for the individual’s arrest.
On July 24, 2025, a 15-year-old from the Township of Cramahe was arrested and charged with:

Assault with a weapon

The youth cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg
