Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Fraud Arrests, Break-In Arrest, Fail to Comply, Carry Concealed Weapon (No Names Released)

Two Cobourg residents are facing charges after police investigate fraud.

On June 8, 2025, the Cobourg Police Service opened a fraud investigation after receiving a report that a resident’s vehicle had been entered and their wallet stolen. The residents’ bank cards were then used at various businesses throughout the Town of Cobourg. As a result of the investigation, the police identified two suspects.

On June 13, 2025, officers on general patrol observed the two suspects, a 35-year-old female and a 41–year–old female, both from Cobourg. Both were arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and seven counts of Unauthorized Use of Credit Card.  The 35-year-old was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing, and the 41-year-old was released on an Undertaking.


The second suspect has been arrested in a break and enter investigation.

On May 25, 2025, police responded to a report of a break and enter in the area of Third Street and Albert Street in Cobourg. Police reviewed video surveillance of two suspects breaking into a secure building and then into storage units within the building. Police were able to identify the two males. One arrest was made on June 13, 2025.

On June 14, 2025, police located the second suspect involved. As a result, a 27-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Break and Enter Tools, and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation.  The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.


A 44-year-old Cobourg woman has been charged after police responded to a report of trespassing on Saturday.

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., police were called to an address on King Street West for a trespasser on the property.  The female suspect had fled the area before the police arrived. Police identified a suspect with witness statements and CCTV camera footage.

Later in the evening, the 44-year-old Cobourg woman was located and arrested, charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.  She was held in custody pending a Show Cause hearing.


A 30-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after being arrested for failing to comply with probation.

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., police on a foot patrol in the area of King Street East and McGill Street observed a man actively breaching a condition imposed by the courts to not associate with another individual.

As a result, police arrested the 30-year-old Cobourg man. During the arrest, police located brass knuckles and a small amount of suspected fentanyl. The accused was charged with four counts of failure to Comply with Probation, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Schedule I Substance, four counts of Breach of Weapons Prohibition, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.
