Peterborough Police – Peterborough Man Charged with Theft (x4), Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (x2) (No Name Released)

A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing several theft charges after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 2:00pm on March 13, 2025, officers were called to a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street and The Parkway area about a man rummaging through vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located a man being held by a concerned citizen. The items from the vehicle were returned to the owner. Through investigation, officers further determined that the man was wanted in connection with four incidents that had been reported online in the past month, and he was taken into custody without incident. During a search after arrest, officers also located debit cards that did not belong to the suspect.

As a result, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Theft Under $5000 X4
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 X2
Identity theft
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, March 14, 2025
