Kawartha Lakes Police Service – Suspect Charged in Stabbing (Name Released)
On February 12, 2025, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service were called to a William St N apartment building for a report of a stabbing.
At approximately 3:08am police arrived and learned that a verbal altercation between two people inside a unit had escalated resulting in one male being stabbed multiple times.
Upon arrival officers stopped a male who was attempting to leave the scene, and further investigation identified him as the assailant. He was taken into custody without incident.
The male victim was transported from the scene to Ross Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
As a result, 18-year-old Desvary Martin-Mckie from Lindsay is charged with:
1. Aggravated Assault
2. Assault with a Weapon
3. Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Person
4. Breach of Recognizance
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
