Northumberland OPP – Looking for Assistance to Identify Hit and Run Suspect

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a hit and run collision.

On November 21, 2024, at around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Grand Road and Alma Street in Campbellford. The caller reported that a dark coloured SUV had struck two female pedestrians who were crossing the road at this location.

The investigation has revealed that the two pedestrians were walking northbound on Grand Road and were struck by the SUV which turned westbound onto Alma Street after also travelling north on Grand Road.

The female driver stopped, briefly exited the SUV before getting back into the vehicle and leaving the scene westbound on Alma Street.

Both pedestrians were transported to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) where one was treated for serious injuries and the other for minor injuries.

Investigators believe the vehicle would have sustained damage to the front bumper as a result of hitting the two pedestrians.
