Update – Northumberland OPP – Individual Succumbs to Injuries Following Electric Scooter Collision

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on Percy Street in the Township of Cramahe.

On October 31, 2024, shortly before 1:00 p.m., Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the Township of Cramahe Fire Department and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a pick-up truck and an electric scooter.

The operator of the electric vehicle was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The 27-year-old, from Colborne, was further airlifted to a Toronto Hospital by Ornge but the injuries sustained have since resulted in their death.

Percy Street was closed between King Street and Church Street while Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) members attended to document the scene.

The Northumberland OPP are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Northumberland OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
