Northumberland OPP – Man Charged with Sexual Assault

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual in relation to a sexual assault.

On October 24, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., police received a report regarding an incident that occurred at an address in the Township of Cramahe.

Forensic Identification Services (IDENT) attended the location, and officers were assisted by the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit.

As a result, a 44-year-old male, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

The name of the individual is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

There is no stature of limitations on sexual offences and a report can be made to police at any time, regardless of how much time has passed.
