City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Lindsay Woman Charged with Impaired, Assault Peace Officer (Name Released)

On August 10th at approximately 7:00p.m, members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of an impaired driver at the Gas station in Coboconk with a child on board. The vehicle departed the gas station before officers arrived.

Officers located the vehicle on Kirkfield road. The vehicle was stopped, and Officers entered an impaired investigation.

38-year-old, Erin Nisbett from Lindsay was arrested and charged with

·      Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Assault a peace officer

·      Driver fail to surrender licence.

Officers ensured the child’s safety.

The accused was served a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines. The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
