Northumberland OPP – Sudden Death Investigation

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a sudden death in Roseneath.

On August 4, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Northumberland OPP responded to a call from emergency medical services regarding an unresponsive person on a commercial property in the area of County Road 45. The 32-year-old male from Roseneath was pronounced deceased a short time later.

While the cause of death remains under investigation, police believe there is no threat to public safety. The investigation is in its early stages and no further details can be released at this time.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Community Street Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP Forensic Identification Services, and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
