Northumberland OPP – Motorcyclist from Hastings Killed in Collision

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a two-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

On August 8, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Municipality of Trent Hills Fire Department and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a pick-up truck and a motorcycle in the area of County Road 45 and Broadworth Road.

The 18-year-old motorcycle rider from Hastings was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. There were no reported injuries to the driver of the other vehicle.

OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) members and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario attended the scene and are assisting with the investigation.

County Road 45 was closed in the area until approximately 1:00 a.m. on August 9, 2024.

Northumberland OPP are appealing to anyone who may ha ve witnessed, has video/dash cam footage or information relating to the collision and has not yet spoken with police, to contact the Northumberland OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
