Northumberland OPP – Investigating Overnight Break-Ins

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating two break and enter incidents that occurred overnight from August 6 to August 7, 2024.

On August 7, 2024, at approximately 6:25 a.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a recreational business property on Shelter Valley Road in the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand. A locked building had been broken into where cash and other items were stolen.

A short time later, also on August 7, 2024, at approximately 6:50 a.m., OPP were dispatched to another break an enter at a similar recreational business property on Timber Ridge Drive in the Municipality of Brighton. Another locked building had been broken into and primarily cash taken.

Both premises were locked at around 9.00 p.m. each night and when complainants returned the next morning at around 6:00 a.m., both locations had been subject to break and enter incidents. A Scen es of Crime Officer (SOCO) attended both locations to assist with the investigation.
